2 Weeks to go! Outdoor Wirral Restaurants and Pubs You Should Visit

In January, the government announced what it hopes to be the final COVID lockdown in the UK. Your favourite Restaurants, Pubs and Beer Gardens temporarily closed their doors once again to protect their communities. Lockdown has affected everyone and every business – especially your independent Wirral businesses. Catering and hospitality have been amongst the hardest hit, and we are keen to do all we can to support them as they re-open (as we’re sure you are too!).

As you may have heard, lockdown is lifting soon! On April 12th, the measures will ease to allow your favourite restaurants near you to finally open their kitchens again, provided they have outdoor seating. Soon, we’ll be able to go out with friends and loved ones, enjoy a meal with our families after a great day out, or enjoy a cold drink in the warm summer sun!

Wirral Restaurants

Family friendly restaurants are dotted all over the Wirral – you won’t have to look far to find a great meal for you and your family! Some of our partners we’re supporting, opening from April 12th are below. And you can find the full list of partnered businesses here!

LEAF is a family-run restaurant and tea shop based up in West Kirby! Their breakfasts, brunches and lunches have options for adults and children alike – with plenty to do nearby, and plenty of space. They also have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options catered for and are priced right around the £10-15 mark for a main course meal. If you love your tea, they offer 10% off on their retail shop including over 60 loose leaf teas and accessories exclusively for shop local card holders!

The Woodside Ferry Village has plenty of outdoor seating available, at 100 seats! They cater for all ages and have a wide range of national and international food to suit all tastes. They have a variety of vendors who offer meals to fit every taste – from Mexican to Italian. They’re dog friendly and have a rooftop terrace offering breath-taking, uninterrupted views across the river that you can enjoy before hopping on to the ferry to Liverpool, or a tram to other nearby locations such as Birkenhead Priory – the oldest standing building in Merseyside!

Bamboo Thai is one of the Woodside Ferry Village’s vendors, who are eager to have you join them in April! They have vegetarian and vegan options, plus lots of outdoor space for your family to eat while keeping to social distancing! They offer a wide variety of food and drink – specialising in street food from Thailand, Loas and Vietnam to provide a mix of tastes and flavours. From classics like Thai Green and Thai Red curry to Red Na, Larb Gai and Thai Noodle Rolls for those looking to potentially try something new. For shop local card holders, you can get 10% off!

Beer gardens and Outdoor pubs on the Wirral

It’s not just restaurants with outdoor seating that will be opening from April – pubs are too! Our partners include some of the best pubs on the Wirral with outdoor seating – here’s a few from our collective, with plenty more here!

Irby Mill is a cosy, dog friendly, sandstone pub offering plenty of space outside for you and your friends to enjoy a cold glass in the sun over in Greasby! They have a sheltered section too, so no matter the weather this April, you can be sure your food and drink will stay rain-free as they also serve amazing home-cooked meals alongside their 8 cask ales and premium beers. If you have your shop local card with you, you can get a free coffee or draft soft drink with any food purchased from their menu!

The White Lion Inn is a traditional, dog-friendly, sandstone ale house in West Kirby. They have plenty of space in their beer garden for your group to sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery – as well as their range of real ales. Their beer garden has sheltered areas for those unexpected showers, as well as great lighting and a fishpond to add to their warm, welcoming atmosphere. With a shop local card you can get 5% off their range of drinks!
